About Me

I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Wollongong, and research scientist at the Schizophrenia Research Institute (Sydney). My research focuses on novel treatment aspects against schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s disease. In a team effort with collaborators from IHMRI, UNSW and NIH we utilize in vitro and in vivo models to address and treat the range of pathophysiological processes present in both disorders. You can find recent examples of my work in the conference presentation section.

ASMR logoWhen I’m not in the lab, assisting students, writing papers, applying for funding or trouble shooting new equipment, I’m volunteering my time to advocate for medical research in Australia. I’m the chair of the New South Wales arm of the Australian Society for Medical Research (ASMR). We organise an annual scientific conference, public events, outreach days with high school students and training days for early career research. It’s a great pleasure to raise the profile of the sector, considering how much excellent work gets done and the need to showcase this work for the public to understand what’s going on behind lab doors.

Get in touch if you have questions, ideas or otherwise like to engage with me about my work.
